Xiaomi only just recently launched the much-awaited Mi Mix 2 (the expensive and premium high-end phone), while also unwrapping the Mi Note 3, a mid-ranger. And these two won’t let us down. What have they in store for us? Read on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 Coming to Nepal to find out.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2: What it has in store
Bezel-less phones are quite the new fashion among flagships. And I think we can thank the Xiaomi Mi Mix for that, for pioneering bezel-less displays. And so, when the sequel to the pioneer makes a debut, the phone market should go nuts!
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the sequel to Mi Mix, but it is smaller, slimmer yet more powerful. Its 11% lighter and 12% slimmer than the predecessor. The display shrinks to 5.99″ Full-HD IPS LCD from 6.4″ but this time with 18:9 aspect ratio. And also, it has increased pixel density, which should make the display more crispier. Also, the bezels are even smaller on a Ceramic body, which should make it look like and feel like the premium-est of bezel-less phones! This is however, a premium edition. The normal edition sports a full-metal body.
Inside the body, there is an arrangement of some raw power! The phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is supported by either 6 GB or 8 GB RAM: you get to choose which. There are 3 storage options of 64 GB, 128GB and 256 GB. Also, a 3400 mAh battery pack should make this phone last a day!
With Xiaomi not compromising with this phone, you can be sure that the camera is top-tier as well. However, it has decided not to follow the Dual Lens trend and gone with a single 12 MP sensor with 4-axis OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) IMX386 lens. The camera takes wonderful pictures, though you cannot compare it with the likes of Samsung Flagships. The front 5 MP camera is also a great selfie shooter. This Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 out of the box.
All in all, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 phone is almost everything we’ve anticipated. And only if the display was upgraded to QHD at least, it would have been a dream phone! But even without it, its a something fantastically premium!
Xiaomi MI Note 3: Camera-Centered Mid-Ranger
Next up on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 Coming to Nepal, let’s discuss the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. Xiaomi decided its not going to put dual cameras in the Mi Mix 2, but it made the Mi Note 3 by doing so. So, the Mi Note 3 features a dual 12 MP camera setup in the back: a wide angle and a telephoto lens. The cameras feature 4-axis OIS with and 2X optical zoom. The front camera is a 16 MP selfie-shooter with a large pixel size that makes for great selfies! There are also various beautify mode available on the selfie camera.
Besides the camera, it offers good value for what a mid-ranger should. A 5.5″ IPS LCD Full-HD display with pretty thin bezels on a full-metal body and a fingerprint sensor on the front. Besides, in terms of hardware, it is powered by Snapdragon 660, which is typically mid-range. But being supported by 6 GB RAM, it should be powerful enough as well.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 packs a juicy 3500 mAh battery which should last a phone like this for about a day and half easily. This phone comes with 64 and 128 GB memory options. Overall, this one is a typical mid-range phone, but what might be appealing is the high-end camera setup it offers.
