I am a huge fan of UGreen products. After testing the UGreen Wireless Car Charger and the UGreen USB-C cable, it’s now time to test the UGreen USB-C to HDMI dongle and see how it works. So, let’s get into the review.
UGreen reminds me quite a bit of Anker. Both the brands came out of nowhere and provided high-quality accessories as their more expensive accessory manufacturers like Belkin for fraction of price.
You will find that UGreen products are really well made with attention to detail in every department. From the packaging to the ‘Thank you’ note inside the shipping box, the company seems to somehow show that they really care about their customers. Okay, I will stop praising the brand and get straight to the review.
Ugreen USB-C to HDMI adapter review
As with other UGreen products I have received in the last, the packaging of the USB-C to HDMI cable is really good. There’s a thank you note inside the shipping box (and outside the retail packaging) and also a strange black strap that the company seems to send with all your products. I have no clue what it is. If you do, let me know about it in the comments section down below.
USB-C to HDMI cable quality
The UGreen USB-C to HDMI cable has a metallic finish to it and feels really premium. There are no plastic parts on the construction and the cable seems like it will last for quite a while. It’s also worth mentioning that the cable comes with a 1-year warranty so you have peace of mind in that front. I would have loved to see a larger cable though.
The Ugreen USB-C to HDMI dongle worked as excepted. As soon as I connected the cable on one end to the laptop and to the HDMI cable on the other end, the signal picked up and worked seamlessly. I was able to playback 4K content using this dongle without any issues.
One feature that I liked about the cable is that it has a USB-C port within the dongle. This allows charging the laptop while you have your precious USB-C port used by the dongle.
So if you have a device like the 12-inch MacBook or something like Galaxy Note 9, you will be able to use the HDMI cable while being able to charge the device itself.back to menu ↑
Is the UGreen USB-C to HDMI Dongle worth the money?
Well, there certainly are cheaper options out there. But if you are looking to get a cable that will last for a very long time, the UGreen USB-C to HDMI cable is certainly a good investment. From the metallic construction to the 1-year warranty, you will certainly be pleased with this offering. You can get this cable for as low as $15.
And the thing is, the other cheap no-brand USB-C to HDMI cable that you find on the market today too are priced similarly. It makes no sense to spend $12 or so for a no-brand Chinese USB-C to HDMI cable when you can get this UGreen USB-C to HDMI cable for just $15.
