Motorola has just unveiled the Motorola One Hyper and it’s shaping to be a really good phone. But is the One Hyper worth the money? Well, let’s find out!
Motorola has been making really good mid-range smartphones of late. The Motorola One Hyper looks to be one of them. But is it really? Should you pay $400 for the Motorola One Hyper?
Motorola One Hyper Specification
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 675
- 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS Display
- 4GB of RAM
- Dual Rear Camera (64MP f/1.8 + 8MP ultrawide)
- 32MP Motorized pop-up Selfie Camera
- 4K Video Recording
- 4000mAh Battery
- 45W Fast Charging
When you look at the raw specs of the Motorola One Hyper, there’s no denying that the phone packs a punch. While the specs aren’t flagship worthy, it’s definitely got features that you expect to see in an upper mid-range smartphone. Also, the design of the phone is also exceptional for the price. You definitely don’t want to put Phone Cases and Covers on the Motorola One Hyper– that’s for sure.
Motorola One Hyper Display
Let’s talk about the display first. The phone has got an excellent 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with minimal bezel all-around. This type of design is something that we only find in flagship phones that cost twice the price.
Since the phone has a motorized front-camera, the phone doesn’t have any kind of notch on the front. The viewing experience on the phone is really pleasant.
My only gripe is the phone doesn’t feature an OLED display. While it would have been great if the phone had an OLED display, it’s definitely not something that should hold back people from getting this phone.
Motorola One Hyper Performance
The One Hyper has the type of performance you would expect from an upper mid-range phone. The phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC which is coupled with 4GB of RAM.
Interestingly enough, the phone has 128GB of Internal Storage which can be further expanded to 128GB. However, I don’t think anyone will need to use it given the size of the internal memory.
And that’s not going to be a bad decision on your part either. Because you can use that slot to pop-in an additional SIM card. Sweet, isn’t it?
Motorola One Hyper Camera
There’s no doubt about it. The camera on the One Hyper is what makes the phone so interesting.
The One Hyper features a dual-camera system on the back- a 64MP f/1.8 primary camera with pixel binning and an 8MP 13mm ultra-wide camera.
Since the camera uses pixel binning, you will get 16MP photos with really good detail and excellent low-light photo output. You can expect to get really high-quality image output from the camera system.
Like most flagship phones of 2019 (sans the Pixel 4), the Motorola One Hyper has an ultra-wide camera. The camera can be used to take group photos and landscape photos that wouldn’t be able to possible to capture with the primary camera.
Oh, and yes- the phone can also shoot 4K 30fps videos using the rear primary camera.
Motorola One Hyper Battery and Charging
The Motorola One Hyper has a 4000mAh battery which isn’t something brag-worthy. A lot of phones today have a battery that is sized at 4000mAh or higher. Heck, even the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 4000mAh-ish battery.
But what makes the Motorola One Hyper so special is the rate at which it charges. The phone is capable of charging at 45W which fully charges the phone in under 1 hour. And this, without a doubt, is something special.
Is Motorola One Hyper Worth The Money?
Yes! There are no two ways about it. The Motorola One Hyper is one of the better mid-range phones you can buy today. At $400, it’s difficult to find a phone that is so rich in features.
In addition to that, the Motorola One Hyper has a stock-like Android experience. Also, Motorola phones are known to get fast software updates.
When you look at the One Hyper as a complete package, you will see that the phone is one good mid-ranger. While it doesn’t have a flagship-grade processor, everything else is commendable.
From the camera to the size of Internal storage, this phone has everything you look for a phone at this price.
Also, let’s forget that the Motorola One Hyper has a bezel-less design with no notch obstruction on the front.
With that said, I think the Motorola One Hyper is worth every penny. What’re your thoughts? Let us know in the comments section down below.
