Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch official, starts at $2500

Microsoft has just announced the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch and it’s really good. Period. Alongside the Surface Book 2 15-inch, the company also has refreshed its 13-inch Surface Book 2. This one is interesting too but for now, let’s focus on the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch is Microsoft’s first 15-inch laptop/convertible. And it’s feature packed and is really well spec’ed too. And it should be. After all, the base model of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch is $2,499. Let’s quickly run down the specs of the 15-inch Surface Book 2:

  • 15″ 3240×2160 PixelSense IPS Display
  • 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor @4.2GHz
  • 16GB RAM
  • nVidia GTX 1060
  • 2xUSB 3.1
  • 1xUSB Type-C
  • SD Card Slot
  • Up to 17hrs of Video Playback
  • Microsoft Surface Pen and Surface Dial compatible

Microsoft is taking really stepping up their game in the recent years. The way they have been launching new products makes me think that they might beat Apple at their own game in the near future.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch goes against the 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display and the specs of both the devices are closely matched. However, since the Microsoft Surface Book 2 15-inch is a brand-new device, they have an advantage of using the latest generation of Intel Core-i7 CPUs. Apple should release laptops with 8th generation Core-iX series of laptop as soon as next month.

The Surface Book 2 is scheduled to launch sometime next month just before the holiday season. The Surface Book 2 looks good and will certainly turn heads. If the laptop performs just as well as it sounds on paper, the device is bound to be a great hit.
