The Jumper EZbook Notebooks are known for being good laptops at mean prices! Of course, for techno-freaks like me, the specs don’t mean anything at all, but for the average joe, these can prove to be good laptops for normal usage. So, a special edition of the Jumper EZbook 3, hence the Jumper EZbook 3SE; is out and it’s like an entry-level laptop with an even lower price! That being said, I will warn all you geeks that this notebook is nothing special. But for all the others, read on Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review.
The name “Special Edition” here means a special unit with slashed prices, apparently. Because really, I found nothing impressive about this notebook except its display. Here’s our initial impression of this notebook in Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review.
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Design
The name should say most about its design already. Being a notebook, it’s very compact, with only 8 mm thickness in the slimmest part. It’s a 13.3″ laptop, and with that thickness, its weight is only 1.35 kg! I didn’t feel any weight while carrying it in my backpack. The dimensions are (31.5 x 20.8 x 1.5) mm, and you can easily hold it in your palm while using it with the other. Believe me, I tried! It’s not only compact in size, but also very lightweight.
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Display
Next up on Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review, let’s talk about the display. The Jumper EZbook 3SE features a 13.3″ IPS LCD Full-HD display (1920 x 1080) resolution with 16:9 screen to body aspect ratio. At 178-degree wide angle, you can have a very comfortable view, be it on your desk, or lap, or even on your chest while you lie on your bed! (Yup, I do that a lot too).
I was surprised that this cheap notebook put in on Full-HD display. Don’t get me wrong – I really like the sharp and crisp pictures and the vivid contrast. However, for a small screen like that, it’s not really fun watching movies and stuff, so, it seems a bit unnecessary. It would have been wise if they’d added an extra GB or RAM or instead of this.
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Hardware
I’ll be honest. As I said before, there isn’t much impressive about this notebook and much of it is due to the hardware. It is powered by an Intel Celeron N3350 1.1 GHz Quad Apollo Lake chip which is supported by 3 GB DDR3 RAM. Now, this is not the kind of specs to boast about certainly. Daily operations like browsing the web and stuff are still breezy. However, avoid opening like more than 6 tabs on Google Chrome on this one. And I was afraid to even try and run my usual games on this, so, no comment there.
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Battery and Storage
Now, let’s talk about the battery and storage on Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review. The size of this notebook is very compact, so, it’s obvious that there are some compromises in the storage or battery. And the Jumper EZbook 3SE opted to compromise on the storage. You only have a 64 GB of eMMC storage on this thing. Yes, the eMMC storage makes for faster data transfer speeds than your regular HDD laptops, but these storage are for smartphones! But well, not that much of a setback.
However, the battery makes up for the storage. You get an ultra-large capacity 9000 mAh battery in this thing. That’s like super cool. But I guess, that battery size is just right for something with a Full-HD display. I didn’t use it for very long, and while I used it, it didn’t run out of juice. But this battery is much larger than what you’ll usually find on other notebooks anyway. Ergo, you can have a lot of fun with a single charge!
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Ports and Features
Next up on Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review, lets have a look at the ports and features of this device. Being a notebook, you cannot expect all the ports to be there. However, it has most of the essentials: an HDMI port for projectors, two USB 3.0 ports, a microSD port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and of course, the DC-in port.
And of course, there’s Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n too. So, it does cover all the essentials. Also, there is a 2 MP webcam for face-timing. The Jumper EZbook 3SE runs on Windows 10, which we all are already familiar with.
Jumper EZbook 3SE: Conclusion
So, in conclusion to the Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review, this notebook is for the average joe. With a Full-HD display and a great battery life, it will make for a great media device to surf the web, and light movie viewing. You can play music for hours at small parties and such, or use it for simple work like blogging, but that’s about it.
The hardware and memory is not nearly feasible for gaming, and heavy applications, so, for those who are video editors and such, this is not the device. Being a geek and a techno-savvy person, I personally find this very bland and not impressive. But hey, you get this notebook for around $170 at Geekbuying right now, so, the price is justified. So, those who are looking for a tablet-laptop thing, this can be the one.
So, this was Jumper EZbook 3SE: Initial Impressions and Review. It’s based on a very short-term use of the Jumper EZbook 3SE, so, I might have missed out a couple of things. Hope you enjoyed it and stick with us for more such news and information.
